My dearest Adeolu (Paul)
It has taken some time for me to distill my thoughts and pen my tribute to Pastor Paul Adefarasin - the man I know. Though words are insufficient to capture the breadth of my thoughts, I'll try to give you the essence as I write about someone who is many things to me; as my best friend, my big brother, my boyfriend, my lover, my mentor, my coach, my greatest encourager, my husband, my pastor, my boss, my everything...after my Saviour Jesus Christ.Where do I begin? I can barely recall my life without you, as for a greater part of my adult life, you have been such a strong and positive influence, instructing, directing, moulding and shaping me into the woman I am evolving into.
From our very first encounter, your passion for the things of God endeared you to me. In today's parlance, 'what's not to like?' - listening to a tall and handsome, cultured and eloquent, courteous, six foot three inches hunk of a man with an inimitable baritone, small wonder I am married to you today.
Over the years, I've watched you evolve from a husband to a father, from a pastor to an apostle, from giving pastoral care to parishioners to counseling kings, from penning sermon notes to becoming an author, from gathering a handful for fellowship, to erecting a worthy cathedral for thousands to worship and commune with the Lord. You are really a multifaceted man.
Your commitment to the family and the sacrifices you make to ensure that you spend time with the children and I, regardless of cost or personal inconvenience challenges me to do the same. The perception with which you correct and direct us all inspires me, while the patience with which you bring understanding to difficult matters is worthy of emulation. During the course of 18 years together, not once have I had cause to fault your leadership and direction over the family as a prophet, priest, and provider. Again and again, I have learnt from your actions that being there when it really matters is not an option, it's essential. The ways in which you express love to us all, elicits our love to you.
You are indeed a terrific husband. I thank God for the desire you had almost two decades ago to spend your life with me. I recall with a warm heart, you writing in the sand, 'will you marry me?' as we walked the Lighthouse Beach. I pray our marriage will be engraved in the indelible 'sands of time' as we together fulfill purpose.
Thank you for being the loving, caring person you are. Thank you for being the selfless person you are. Thank you for being the trail blazer you are. Thank you for how you relate with the youths, including our 'first generation' children. Thank you for being the great husband and father you are.
As you celebrate this milestone birthday, I pray God's very best for you as you embark on yet another season of fulfilling God's mandate to the nation.

WIZKID AND BANKY W SPLITS
The split between Banky W and Wizkid, inside sources say, resulted from an alleged high difference in what Banky W gets from revenues made by the young star, Wizkid.
The 'injustice', according to info, has been bothering Wizkid until he summoned the courage to ask for an improved contract from Banky W, which hit him (Banky) by surprise.
"You know Wizkid is the backbone of EME music label. The boy (Wizkid) feels that Banky W has been milking too much from him with the large chunk of what Banky W takes from what the boy makes.
"Wizkid has asked for an improved contract because the present one allocates much of Wizkid’s earnings to Banky W. You know when you are coming up, you sign any kind of deal because you just want to climb stardom.
"That is the situation the boy finds himself but Banky felt hurt that Wizkid could ask for an improved offer after what he (Banky W) has done for him.
"This was the beginning of the problem between them. The boy even threatened to leave the label sometimes ago but Banky W felt it was a joke. He took it with a pinch of salt. Now, he is at a crossroad and confused on what to do,"
Wizkid's mum waded into the matter but Wizkid reportedly ignored his mum advice and stood his ground on leaving the label. "Wizkid’s mum has also tried to talk sense to her son but it seems the guy (Wizkid) is
bent on moving on with his life."

BOKOHARAM HAS ANNOUNCED CEASE FIRE IN NIGERIA
Vanguardngr.com Sheikh Abu Mohammad Abdulazeez Ibn Idris a commander of Boko Haram in-charge of North and Central Borno, said after due consultation with the leader of the sect, Shiekh Abubakar Shekau, as well as intervention and pleadings from respected individuals and groups in the state, we “have all come to terms and agreed to lay down our arms.”
The Boko Haram Commander, however, insisted that government should immediately release all their members from custody unconditionally, re-build their places of worship and compensate them among other demands.
Sheikh Abdulazeez said that, the sect observed that during the lingering insurgency, a lot of Muslim women and children had suffered untold hardship, adding that, they also decided to lay down their arms for peace to reign in Borno and the country at large.
“I am appealing and calling on all our members through this medium to lay down their arms henceforth, till further notice,” Abdulazeez stated.
On the wanton killings, especially the slaughtering of eight people in Gajigana town of Magumeri Local Council of Borno State on Sunday and burning of public buildings, he disassociated Boko Haram from the acts, insisting that the atrocities were committed by criminals hiding under the guise of Boko Haram.
Abdulazeez’s comments read in part: “I am Sheikh Muhammed Abdulazeez Ibn Idris, the second Commander in-charge of Southern and Northern Borno after Imam Abubakar Shekau of Jamaatul Ahjlil Sunna lidawati wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram.
We the members of Jamaatul ahlil sunna lidawati wal jihad otherwise known as Boko Haram recently had a meeting and dialogue with the government of Borno State where we resolved that giving the prevailing situation, there is the need for us to cease fire.
We, on our own, in the top hierarchy of our movement under the leadership of Imam Abubakar Shekau, as well as some of our notable followers agreed that our brethren in Islam, both women and children are suffering unnecessarily; hence we resolved that we should bring this crisis to an end.
“We therefore call on all those that identify themselves with us and our cause, to from today lay down their arms. Let every member who hears this announcement relay it to the next member who hasn’t heard.
“We have met with the Borno State Government on two occasions and the fallout of the meeting is to cease-fire.
Presently, we are going to comply with the cease-fire order and by the time we are done with that, then government security agencies can go ahead to arrest whoever they find carrying arms or killing under our names.
We are very much aware of the fact that some criminals have infiltrated our movement and continued attacking and killing people using our names.
“We have also told the government to try to live up to our demands that our members in detention should be released.
We hope the government will not betray us this time around because we all know that it was because of the continued detention of our members that this crisis continued for this long. And if government fails to do as it has promised, then this conflict will never have an end.
“Of course there is a faction within us, but the larger faction of our movement is the one in support of this cease-fire moves. Moreover, once top members of our group including Imam Abubakar Shekau are in support of the need for ceasing fire, other smaller factions can be dealt with easily.
This message, by the Grace of Allah, comes directly from the office of Imam Abubakar Shekau, the supreme leader of Jamaatul ahlil Sunna lidawati wal Jihad.”

SMS WILL NOW COST FOUR NAIRA IN NIGERIA TO ANY NETWORK
The Nigeria Communication Commission Has announced on the 24th Jan., 2013 that anyone subscribed to a Nigerian network must not be charged more than four (4) Naira for text messages sent to other networks. The NCC has set a February 5th as effective date for the policy. Mrs. Josephine Amuwa, the Director, Legal and Regulatory Services of the Commission said “There was a general recognition that the cost of SMS is too high, especially in view of the interconnection rate of N1.02 for SMS as determined by the Commission in 2009.
“In accordance with the powers conferred on the Commission under Sections 4 and Chapter V11 of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, the Commission hereby sets a price cap of N4 for Off-net SMS.
“The new rate shall be implemented within 30 days from the date of the directive,”
She said operators proposed price ranging between 7 – 10 Naira but the commission insist on N4.
Ms. Amuwa said that this had been communicated to the operators since January 3, adding that it would, however, not place a price cap on international text messages.
